Lots of chuckles,perhaps you should take the title of "Your Highness" with a crown and all.-Let me 'splain, back in January I was fitted with my own "crown",(at age 68) an infection undetected for too long had eaten up C1,and C2 to the point of fracture(but on the bright side I had started the adventure overweight,and managed to lose nearly 70 lbs). I wish I had found this video while awaiting my" coronation "as I greatly feared the very idea,thinking it very painful to deal with(knowing nothing about it) I woke from the first operation wearing the ring,and was amazed that it didn't hurt (morphine likely helped) then traction was applied for a couple days to pull things back into line,then the second operation was where the doctor said he used up 1/2 of his erector set to re assemble me(after assuming the full set up I told him I was going to sue,as I had told them I wanted to end up looking like a movie star,but had said nothing about Herman Munster !) I was only on morphine for a few days,and managed to use far less than I was allowed,then stepped down to occasional Oxycodone for a few more days. Actually my pain level had dropped drastically when I was fitted with a Miami collar in the E.R. ,and was gone with the halo. I told some people that I was an absent minded king, who had my crown bolted in place to avoid losing it all the time. It wasn't at all bad to deal with,annoying at times,but not bad,and I guess I was lucky as I only needed the halo for 7 weeks, then the Miami for a while longer 24/7,then gradual escape(I still use it now and then if my neck gets tired) I would bet your video will be a great help,and comfort to a lot of people "looking forward "to wearing the crown, your attitude,strength,and cheer is quite something, I expect that you will be doing great things in the future ,with those qualities to draw on-Bless ya both !

I'm social media friends with Erin and we've shared with each other during our recovery. (I'm a C4 quad as well). She kept using the word grateful. No word is more accurate. Luck, positive attitude, and hard work help us maximize our recovery.

Very inspiring, thank you for sharing your stories. My husband has spent the past 2 and a half years learning how to walk, talk, etc all over again. He did not suffer a spinal cord injury but rather an acquired brain injury. Like each of you, he remains positive and hopeful for more recovery. His positive attitude and “never give up mentality” have been key to his success thus far. I have seen some of you at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre. I am truly in aww of you (and of course my husband as well). I often tell people that if they are looking to be inspired or if they just need a little reminder of how great their life really is, then they ought to spend some time outside the NS Rehab and VG Sites. Erin says it best “you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone “. Would love to see more inspirational documentaries such as this Mirror Image Media - great job to these two sisters. Blessings to all.
